Extra Curricular Sports

Extra-Curricular Sports:

Extracurricular sports activities are an extension of the Physical Education program.  Children are given the opportunity to participate and represent the school on the cross-country team, volleyball team, basketball team, soccer team and track and field team. 

Cross Country is held at the beginning of the school year from September to early October with a culminating Meet at Swangard Stadium against many other Catholic Schools. Students from grade 2 to grade 7 are able to join.

The Juvenile Team includes students from grade 4 and grade 5. The Senior Team includes students from grade 6 and grade 7.

Volleyball is played by girls in grade 5, grade 6, and grade 7. The league runs from September and ands in early November. If enough interest exists, a boys’ team from grade 5, grade 6, or grade 7 can be formed.

Boys Soccer runs from September to November. The Juvenile Team includes students from grade 4 and grade 5. The Senior Team includes students from grade 6 and grade 7.

Girls Soccer is played in the spring from March to April. The Juvenile Team includes students from grade 4 and grade 5. The Senior Team includes students from grade 6 and grade 7.

The Basketball program begins with games in early January to February. Practices are often scheduled as early as December to prepare for the season. Basketball is open for both girls and boys from grade 5, grade 6, and grade 7.

Track and Field is the largest team at Our Lady of Fatima with an estimated 80 participate every year. Practices for the running team

begin in early April and run 3 times a week at Centennial School. Other field events (Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Discus) are also available. Students participate in at least 3 track meets. Selected athletes have the opportunity to participate in a culminating Track Meet at Swangard Stadium with over 38 other Catholic Schools from the CISVA. The team is open for students from grade 3 to grade 7.

Grade 2 Track Team. Grade 2 students are able to join the team. Practices are held at the school, two times a week during the month of April. These students participate in 2 track meet s throughout the season.
