Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome back to a new school year at Our Lady of Fatima School!

As we begin another year together, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for all that God has in store for our students, families, and staff. The beginning of a school year is always a time of new beginnings—new friendships, new learning, new opportunities, and new ways to grow in faith.

This year, our school theme is rooted in faith. Being rooted in faith means allowing God to be at the centre of who we are and everything we do. Just as a strong tree needs deep roots to grow, our children need strong roots in God’s love, in prayer, in Scripture, and in the example of Jesus Christ.

Throughout the year, we will encourage our students to deepen their relationship with God and to recognize His presence in their everyday lives. We will strive to create a school community where faith is not simply something we talk about, but something we live, celebrate, and proclaim through our words, our actions, our kindness, and the way we care for one another.

Our Catholic faith reminds us that every child is a precious gift from God, created with unique gifts and talents. As educators and parents, we have the privilege and responsibility of nurturing those gifts and helping our children discover the person God is calling them to become.

I encourage you to make prayer a special part of your family life this year. Pray with your children, give thanks together, and remind them that God is with them through both their joys and their challenges. When home and school work together, we create a strong foundation where our children can flourish academically, socially, and spiritually.

I look forward to welcoming our returning families and extending a very special welcome to those who are joining our school community for the first time. May this be a year filled with learning, friendship, laughter, and, most importantly, a deeper understanding of God’s love.

May God bless our students, our families, and our staff as we begin this new school year together. May He guide us, strengthen us, and keep our hearts firmly rooted in faith.

Please note the following dates and times:

School begins on September 8th, 2026 at 8:30. Students will be dismissed at 10:30.

Meet the Teacher night will be held on Thursday, September 10th at 6:30 in the gym.  At that time I will introduce the staff and the PEC. After the presentation in the gym, you will meet your child’s teacher in the classroom. Kindergarten parents will go first to the classroom at 6:00 and then go to the gym at 6:30.  All new parents are invited to join Fr. Au for dinner at the parish hall and to appreciate our school life following the meeting with your child’s teacher, if applicable.  Further details are forthcoming in a separate email from Fr. Au.

We look forward to seeing all of you.

With warmest wishes for a wonderful and blessed school year,

Mrs. M. Katsionis
